One Platform for Finance, People, and Project Costing Across Telecom Rollouts
Company Overview
Established in 1994, Alkan CIT is one of Egypt's most prominent systems integrators, delivering communications and IT solutions across Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East through subsidiaries including Alkan Telecom, QSIT, Alkan Business Vision, and Alkan Construction & Communication Networks, the latter specializing in telecom construction since 1998. With more than 1,000 employees and large-scale, multi-site telecom rollout projects, Alkan needed a unified platform spanning finance, people, procurement, and project costing.
What We Did
Azdan implemented NetSuite finance and accounting across the organization, covering general ledger, payables, receivables, budgeting, and statutory reporting localized for Egyptian requirements, replacing fragmented accounting processes with a single consolidated financial platform.
We delivered a complete, localized HCM covering the full employee lifecycle: payroll aligned with Egyptian labor law, social insurance and tax rules, leave and attendance, and HR records for a workforce of over a thousand people. HR data now lives in the same system as the costs it drives.
We implemented supply chain and procurement, covering purchasing, inventory, and vendor management, to control the flow of materials and equipment feeding telecom construction sites, along with fixed asset management to track the company's substantial equipment and infrastructure base from acquisition through depreciation and disposal.
Most critically for a telecom construction business, we deployed project costing: every rollout project, from site acquisition and civil works to tower construction and network deployment, is tracked as a project with budgets, actual costs from procurement and payroll, and margin visibility per project and per client. Management can now see profitability at the project level, not just the company level.
