Agricultural Accounting and Financial Impact
Accounting Impact shows how the crop cycle is represented in the demonstration’s accounting entries. The operational event, account and cost dimension sit together so that finance can follow an issue, labour capture or allocation without losing the crop reference.
Before you begin
Identify the crop, logical land, period and event. Use the chart of accounts and accounting policies approved for your implementation; the displayed entries are examples.
Navigation: Top-right screen dropdown → Accounting Impact.
Procedure
- Confirm the season, harvest lot, contract rate and actual unit cost at the top of the screen.
- Find the event under review: issue, labour, allocation, harvest, revaluation, packing or spoilage.
- Check account, dimension, debit, credit and the balancing totals.
- Match the crop and operational reference to the source workspace or Cost Drill-Down.
- Refer an unexpected mapping, valuation or period assignment to finance.
- Reconcile the corresponding posted records as part of the production close.
Responsibilities and follow-up
The operational team can see why correct crop, land and activity coding matters. Finance can use those references to explain the entry and investigate its source.
Examples visible in the walk
| Event | Displayed relationship |
|---|---|
| Fertiliser issue to P061-26 | Fertiliser cost dimension FC-POTATO and Agricultural Inputs Inventory; equal SAR 10,651.36 lines |
| Field labour | Direct Farm Labour and Accrued Farm and Harvest Costs; equal SAR 4,883.95 lines |
| Allocation cycle | Recipient cost dimension is charged; source intermediate is relieved |
| Rounding | Small rounding lines remain explicit in the cycle output |
The top summary shows eight entries on the walk and total debits equal to total credits. This is a useful consistency check within the example, but the finance team should still reconcile actual posted records and period totals in production.
Important notes
The balanced-entry and zero-manual-journal indicators apply to the demonstration walk. They do not prove a production posting or remove the need for reconciliation and approved adjustments. Bearer-plant and valuation treatment remains subject to the implementation’s accounting policy.
